V.M. Kolomietz ∗ Physik-Department TU München, 85747 Garching, Germany Abstract The energy spectrum and the emission rate of particles emitted from excited nucleus due to both the evaporation and the splashing (emission from a cold vibrating nucleus) are calculated. We show that the collective motion of the nuclear Fermi liquid is accompanied by direct nonstatistical emission of nucleons via the dynamical distortion of the Fermi surface.

The decay time scale for highly excited nuclei as seen from asymmetrical emission of particles
A novel method was developed for the extraction of short emission times of light particles from the projectile-like fragments in peripheral deep-inelastic collisions in the Fermi energy domain. We were able to determine the emission times in the interval 50-500 fm/c using asymmetrical emission of light particles observed in reaction 28Si + 112Sn at 50 MeV/nucleon. The backward emission anisotro...
متن کاملStudy of fusion reactions forming the Cf nuclei
The most successful reaction type for the production of heavy nuclei is fusion of two colliding nuclei to form an excited compound nucleus, which subsequently deexcites by evaporation of few neutrons [1]. However, this so called fusion-evaporation reaction is strongly dominated by the fusion–fission reaction which is the main deexcitation channel of the excited compound nuclei [2]. Thus, the in...
متن کاملMonte carlo transport codes for use in the space radiation environment.
PHITS (Particle and Heavy-Ion Transport code System) [1] is a general purpose particle and heavy-ion MC transport code which can transport neutrons from thermal energies up to 200 GeV. The 3-dimensional Monte-Carlo radiation transport code was developed with collaboration of several institutes including JAEA, RIST, KEK and Chalmers University of Technology. The same method as in the MCNP4C code...
متن کاملMultiple-Scattering Model for Inclusive Proton Production in Heavy Ion Collisions
A formalism is developed for evaluating the momentum distribution for proton production in nuclear abrasion during heavy ion collisions using the Glauber multiple-scattering series. Several models for the onebody density matrix of nuclei are considered for performing numerical calculations. Calculations for the momentum distribution of protons in abrasion are compared with experimental data for...
متن کاملFermionic Molecular Dynamics: Multifragmentation in Heavy–ion Collisions and in Excited Nuclei
How multifragmentation happens in heavy ion collisions is still a matter of debate. Explanations reach from nucleation over self organization, spinodal decomposition to cold break–up and survival of initial correlations. For an overview see ref. [1]. A key question is the time scale of the reaction. Slow processes like nucleation or self organization are hindered if the expansion of the whole s...
